Updating a firmware to format tool
While the firmware update on this page refers to the Crucial m4 SSD, it is compatible (and recommended) for the Crucial Adrenaline.WARNING: The firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk.
It includes incremental improvements and refinements over these versions which may improve the overall user experience. The following is a summary of changes between 04MH and 07MH, which are independent of operating system: WARNING: The Firmware update is destructive to the data on the SSD and on the flash drive being created as bootable media. The firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk.COMPATIBILITY NOTICE: The Crucial Adrenaline Solid State Cache Solution uses a Crucial m4 SSD to cache data and boost system performance. If you have a Dual Boot system we recommend using the Manual Boot Process as opposed to the Windows Update Utility. If you have more than one m4 in your system, note that the Windows Update Utility will update all eligible drives automatically. If performed correctly, there will be no loss of system or user data on the drive.
However, if the firmware process is interrupted for any reason, your solid state drive may not function properly.
Like recent firmware versions, version 070H has improvements over versions 000F which are specific for Windows 8 and new Ultra Book systems, although systems running Windows 7 and other operating systems may also see improvements.
Any m4 firmware version will function normally in Windows 8, even without these performance improvements.
